"The most important thing that schools can do is not to use technology in the curriculum more, but to use it more effectively."

About Me
My name is Melissa Richards, and I am a second grade teacher in Tomball ISD. Most of my experience has been teaching 4th grade math/science, but I have loved the change to becoming a self-contained second grade teacher. In addition to being a primary teacher, I participate in revising and updating our district's curriculum by serving on curriculum teams for science, math, and RLA. I also enjoy representing my campus on our District Wide Educational Improvement Committee. In addition to these activities, I am also a member of our district's Learn to Lead Curriculum Leadership Cohort.
I enjoy helping kids develop a love for learning and growth while using technology in their daily learning. For this passion, I have joined the ADL program at Lamar University to work toward a masters degree in Applied Digital Learning.

This year I was honored to be selected as our campus' 2025 ESL Teacher of the Year. I strive to continue being a lead learner to set an example for my peers and students.
I have 13 years experience in education and look forward to connecting and learning from others. At home, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Tim, of 17 years and my four children.
