A trait of mine that I continue to be complimented on by many of my superiors and peers is my reflective nature. I enjoy reflecting on my performance and how it affected certain outcomes. Being able to reflect, I can focus on what areas were successful and other areas that need improvement. In this blog post, I'll reflect on my learning experience in 5303 - Applying Educational Technology: Portfolio and 5313 - Creating Significant Learning Environments. Hopefully, I can make the argument that a 95 would be a valid grade for this assignment.

I feel that this fall semester, I was better able to take the assignments and really apply the concepts to apply to what I am currently doing in the classroom. This was an improvement from my last term since those courses took place over summer break. Being able to attach meaning by developing aligned outcomes and curriculum designs to upcoming units will hold more weight in my application of the skills learned. I thought deeply about the assignments and made sure that the designs would be aligned with my innovation plan. I feel to be an auto-didact learner, I need to improve in finding more resources of my own to support my learning. I do complete all of the required course readings and watch the required videos, but to make sure that my learning applies to my area of work I need to seek out more resources on my own to help support my learning in a more specific way. In addition to completing all the required readings, I have also completed all assignments and discussion posts in a timely manner according to the calendar. Without keeping up with the discussion posts, my peers would not have a sufficient amount of content to respond to.

A key component of the ADL program through Lamar University is the collaborative nature of the courses. In these two courses, my collaborative group included Jelisa Davis-Sophus, Patricia Hamilton, Whitney Davis, and Alondra Ramirez. These collaborators were helpful in my success to this program from participating with me in class discussions, collaborating on how to complete assignments, and even being emotional support when my growth mindset was having a difficult time shining through. We shared leadership roles and I contributed as a leader by hosting Zoom sessions for our discussions and weekly small group meetings where we discussed our weekly prompts. Although we formed this collaboration group for 5303, this group carried over into 5313 where we created assignments that required a higher level of thinking. When anyone had questions, we were able to ask each other in our Group Me chat. Everyone was readily available and quick to respond to support each other.

One of my goals for these courses was to improve my ability to cite references in APA format. I have included references in all of my ePortfolio posts to guide my audience where my information was derived from. I hope that I have shown improvement in this area from my first two courses. Going forward, I hope to continue my research skills so that my work can better reflect a focus in primary elementary learners.
